CNY cornflakes!

As you all know, Chinese New Year is approaching in about two weeks time. So, have you prepare your CNY cookies? Or in my case, CNY cornflakes!

This CNY cornflakes is not your traditional cookies, but you can pack them and give them to your relatives, friends and even neighbors. Either way, you can enjoy them at home as a snack for tea time too. Plus, it is easy to prepare the cereals. And this won't consume much of your time.

But first of all, you need..

1. Cornflakes! Yeah, they are just your plain cornflakes that you can buy from the supermarket.

2. Fine sugar. But you don't need much of them, just half a teaspoon for each batch.

3. Honey. You need to be generous on the honey. Honey gives the flavor for the cereal.

4. Butter/Margarine.

5. Small/Large paper cups.

6. And obviously your frying pan, stove, utensils, etc..

Okay, after preparing those, you may begin by melting the butter/margarine. Use suitable amount as long your frying pan is covered with the butter/margarine.

After that, add a little sugar, maybe half a teaspoon? Unless your frying pan is large. Wait until all the sugar are melted. As a reminder, watch your fire. You don't want your sugar to burnt! Keep the fire at low to medium heat.

Then, you can add in the honey, maybe around two to three table spoons for the half tea spoon of sugar. Your fire, meanwhile, is at low heat. Mix the honey with the melted sugar and you will get something like this, below.

You can add in the cornflakes then. Make sure you stir them around evenly. You don't want one side of your cornflakes to be too sweet! Your cornflakes should look shiny after coated with the honey, below.

You can turn off your fire after that, and start putting the cornflakes into your paper cups! Then you need to bake them in the oven for about six to eight minutes at about 140 degree celcius. Let them cool later and you can start packing them.

They will look like mine or yours may even be better than mine! And if you want to give to anyone, put in a container properly. The picture below is just a sample.

Teehee! Now you can enjoy doing your own CNY cornflakes! Plus, you have two weeks to do, including your public holidays.
